These really are great purifiers. They're all metal and built rather well. Probably, the most convenient thing about them is the filter life. Once you see the filters, you can appreciate how they are built to last 5 years. I've been through a lot of purifiers, but this is one of the only ones that keeps it simple and is built to last. Additionally, it does a good job on reducing odors, which is tough for most on the market. Solid product!

I live in Baton Rouge, La. I bought my first Austin Air in 1997. My allergy problems were many but two were killers for me. My #1allergy was mold. The 2nd was chemicals which NO doctors would touch me due to the petrochemical industry. The mold caused problems ,but not bedridden problem. Certain chemicals like Tilex, ammomium products, and other "smelly" liquids mixed with mold was catastrophic.
Cortizone injections, pills, etc did nothing. I had to go to bed and sleep.
Austin took the mold like every other "air filter", but had the carbon and zeolite to take out chemicals in the air.
I love coming home and smelling a "LIGHT" air that was fresh. The 1997 filter still works[24hrs/7days]. I bought Mom, sister and me for my up-stairs. My price was $450 in 1997, the best money spent. I stopped going to get shots[not working] and started living.
The price seems high for the filter till you break down what is spent on the family for doc,shots,pills,etc. Do your self a favor--try the product.
I do not know,anyone @Austin--just a GREAT product.

The HealthMate is an extremely beneficial unit. Cleans up to 1500 square feet! 13-15 Lbs. of Carbon Zeolite, WOW! That's a lot of carbon...look out odors and allergens. No replacement on the filters for five years! Very economical, and efficient product, thank you Austin Air!

I recently purchased two Health Mate Jrs. Due to a confusion, I believe on my part, I ordered the wrong ones for my problem. I returned them and recieved two replacements correcting the problem.
