The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Filter removes virtually all particles from your air – and on top of that, it specifically targets noxious chemicals and gases that can damage your health, and that exist in common household products.

The HealthMate Plus filter has the same comprehensive technology as the HealthMate filter, with a special potassium iodide filter coating. This makes the HealthMate Plus effective at capturing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), like paint and woodworking odors, and particularly efficient with formaldehyde.

You should only need to replace this filter once every five years; it comes with a pro-rated warranty. The HealthMate Plus Filter also comes with a new Permafilt Pre-Filter included.

This is the main replacement filter for the Austin Air HealthMate Plus.

Shopping Experience: I had the original Healthmate, and I wasn't convinced it even worked. I retired it when the filter needed replacing, and gave up on it for a few years. Just recently, I read a positive review from someone else saying the Healthmate was one of the best air cleaners, so I ordered this Healthmate Plus to replace my old filter. Now I know I haven't really reviewed this filter well, but this is when I changed my mind about how effective the old filter was--when I pulled the old one out, it was FILTHY. Dust and junk fell off it and went everywhere, so I knew right then the darn thing was working. I can't imagine that my poor lungs have been breathing that nasty air all these years that my 10-year old Healthmate has been non-functioning. I can only imagine that this improved filter will be even better.
